Dvi Daniel Cohnitz paskaitos Vilniuje

Visai buvau pamiršęs, kad šiandien ir rytoj filosofas Daniel Cohnitz iš Tartu universiteto (Estija) skaitys porą paskaitų. Informacija apie paskaitas iš tinklalapio "Filosofija Lietuvoje":

"Is Logical Positivism Dead?" - 2011 m. gegužės 31 d. 17.00 val. VU Filosofijos fakultete, 201 aud.

"Towards a Response-Dependence Account of Reference" - 2011 m. birželio 1 d., 17.00 val. VU Filosofijos fakultete, 313 aud.

Kiek suprantu, pirmojoje paskaitoje galima tikėtis išgirsti, ką "kvailo" ("if anything"), o svarbiausia, nekvailo autorius randa loginiame pozityvizme.

"Is Logical Positivism Dead?
For most authors writing about the history of analytic philosophy, it is obvious that logical positivism is dead. Although there are different versions about what lead to its death (was it Quine’s attack on the analytic/synthetic distinction? Quine’s revival of ontology? Popper’s criticism of a logic of inductive confirmation? Kuhn’s naturalistic turn in the philosophy of science? Kripke’s resurrection of metaphysical necessity? perhaps all of that together?), almost everyone seems convinced that being a logical positivist in our days would be crazy. In this article I want to reconsider logical positivism, in order to see what - if anything - really is so silly about this position."
